Did you know the Hamilton-Wenham Library has magazines for
kids? We'll be profiling two a month for you to get more familiar with them,
but below is a complete list of what we subscribe to as well as a short bit
about them. They are currently arranged by suggested age for each magazine.
They are of course, suggestions and meant only as a guide. Many of the
magazines span different age groups and any magazine that your child enjoys and
you find appropriate is all that truly matters.
Babies & Toddlers & Preschoolers
Babybug - Babies and Toddlers
A librarian favorite! Sturdier than other magazines, this is full of stories and poems to share with your littlest ones.
Ladybug - Ages - 3 - 6
Literary stories and poems designed to be read aloud.
Click - Ages 3 - 6
Answer all those why's and what's your children are asking
with this magazine. Each issue explores a different topic in nature, science or
the arts.
Thomas & Friends - Ages 3 - 6
This magazine focuses on essential early learning skills, and features your favorite little engines from the island of Sodor!
Highlights High Five - Ages 2 - 6
Each monthly issue brings 40 pages of read-along stories, simple crafts, recipes, learning games, puzzles for beginners, and other activities that can set your child on the path to become a lifelong learner.
Lower Elementary

This advertisement-free magazine is about helping girls discover and honor their true selves, engage in

ChickaDee - Ages 6 - 9
Filled with comics, puzzles, animals, crafts, and jokes; kids
are sure to love this magazine.
Spider - Ages 6 - 9
The ideal story and activity magazine for former Ladybug magazine readers who love to learn and read. It's even been known to show a reluctant reader how much fun reading can be!
Kids Discover - Ages 6 - 12
Explore a new topic in depth, whether it be science, space, history, or culture you will find articles, games, and activities.
Upper Elementary
American Girl - Ages 8 and up
This magazine is aimed at girls as an alternative to the
teen magazines. The magazine is filled with stories, crafts, advice and games.
National Geographic Kids - Ages 6 - 14
A fan-favorite - games, weird facts, fun quizzes, and awesome articles.
Sports Illustrated Kids - Ages 8 to 15
Another fan-favorite - great action photos, easy-to-read stories about star athletes, helpful instructional tips from the pros, and humor, comics, and activities.
Stone Soup - Ages 8 to 13
Stone Soup is the print magazine written and
illustrated by young writers and artists. It is the leading publisher of
creative writing by children ages 8 to 13.
Cricket - Ages 9 - 14
A Parent's Choice Award winner 5 out of the last 6 years, this magazine is filled with short stories from all genres.
Discovery Girls - Ages 8 - 12
Designed for girls entering middle school each issue is filled with articles, advice, quizzes,embarrassing moments and fashion.
Muse - Ages 9 - 14
Kids who can't help wondering whether video games really
kill their brain cells, or what a gentleman ladybug is called, will find the
answers here, in articles written by award-winning authors and accompanied by
