Elementary Age Programs Still Have Space

Our story programs began this week, and while most of the programs have already filled up, two still have space available. Please join us for one or both of these programs.


LEGOMANIA: for Grades 1-5:  
4 Wednesdays: February 1, February 15, March 7, March 21 3:00-4:00 p.m.
Come create a masterpiece, share your ideas and designs, work individually or as a team.  This is a non-competitive, non-robotics program, created to share the joy of Legos. Pre-registration is appreciated.

WORLD OF WIZARDING for Grades 2-5:
4 Wednesdays: January 25, February 8, February 29, March 14, 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Join us for this Harry Potter themed program with all new activities! Reading, crafts, and spells each week. Muggles welcome. 

Also remember, if you didn't get into the class you wanted, we have drop-in Saturday Storytimes twice a month. Check out our Valentine's Day Storytime and Craft on February 11 and Dads and Donuts, tomorrow January 28 and February 18. More information to follow.

Youth Media Awards Announced!

American Library Association (ALA) announced the Youth Media Awards today. This announcement includes the winner for the Newbery and Caldecott Medals and Coretta Scott King Award among many more.

Read to a Dog!


                     Please join us as we welcome
Tessie, a certified therapy dog,
through Therapy Dog Inc.,  
to the Children's Room. 





Readers who are in Kindergarten through 3rd grade are
invited to sign up to meet Tessie and read a book to her. 
Each session will last approximately 10 minutes.
Pre-registration is required. 
Please see a librarian at the children's desk to sign up. 
A parent's signature is required for participation.

Tessie's first session is on Thursday, January 26 at 4 pm.

World of Wizarding: Winter Session

flyer with information about the activities in our second World of Wizarding is now available. We'll be focusing on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th books this time around.

Not familiar with World of Wizarding? It's a Harry Potter Happening for elementary age children Grades 2-6. We read excerpts from the book, complete crafts and play games. I welcome anyone, even if they've never read, listened to or seen any of Harry Potter.

If you have any questions, please stop by the Children's Room to ask.

Wiggles and Giggles is Back!

Last June JCC Early Childhood Center brought Wiggles and Giggles to the library. Giving children the opportunity to sing, dance and hear stories while parents learned about their preschool program and they are coming back! 

Next Thursday, January 12 at 10:30 am parents and children are invited to join an hour of singing, dancing and stories. 

No registration is necessary. Open to the public at no charge.
