Chess for Kids!

Chess for Kids

MONDAYS in MARCH 
at 3:30 p.m.
March 7, 14, 21, 28

Join Sandra Stolle, former teacher and chess instructor, for some chess fun! Learn how to play the game, practice new moves, and sharpen your skills!
 Pre-registration is requested.


No prior experience necessary. Players of all skill levels are welcome. 
Come to all the sessions or just a few.
Free and open to the public. 
Former players are welcome!

February Vacation Week

Enjoy a fabulous and fun February vacation week at the library!

Tuesday, February 16 at 3:00 p.m.

Join us for a magical afternoon with professional magician and comedian Mike Bent! Mike dazzles with his mysterious magic tricks, and will have the audience in stitches with his hilarious pranks. This program is open to all ages and is free of charge.

.Children in 3rd – 5th grade meet at 3:00 p.m.
Engineer a humane trap to catch cane toads with local 5th grade teacher, Bryan Sheckells! 
 There are still a few spots in the 3rd - 5th grade sign-up. Pre-registration is required.

Valentine's Day Card Open Studio!

Show someone special how much you care with a handmade card! Please stop by the library on SaturdayFebruary 13 from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m., and use our craft supplies to make a special Valentine’s Day card, or any other type of greeting card you wish to create!
This program is open to all ages, and offered free of charge.
No registration necessary.

Take Your Child to the Library Day!

Celebrate National Take Your Child to the Library Day on Saturday, February 6 at 11:00 a.m., and join us for a special Chinese New Year celebration! There will be stories, a craft, and games and a Chinese zodiac scavenger hunt! Plus, children can earn raffle tickets for a chance to win a prize basket filled with goodies. This program is for all ages and free of charge. No registration necessary.

Paws to Read

We had two cancellations in our Paws to Read program with Tessie on Saturday, February 13. If you would like to participate, time slots at 11:30 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. are available. This program helps children in kindergarten through 3rd grade develop their reading skills. Please call or visit the Children's Room for details and to register.
